ASECOS - Lithium Ion Battery Cabinets and New Safety Features
Valued customers and partners, we are pleased to announce that all our ION-LINE CORE, PRO and ULTRA safety storage cabinets have been enhanced and are now equipped with new safety features. Furthermore, our ION-LINE PRO and ULTRA safety storage cabinets are now certified in accordance with VDMA 24994:2024-08!
What exactly does that mean?
The new standard sheet VDMA 24994:2024-08 outlines fire-resistant test requirements for lithium battery safety storage and charging cabinets.Alongside the 90-minute fire resistance tests from outside to inside (in accordance with EN 14470-1) and inside to outside (based on EN 1363-1), these standards now define the latest state of the art.
How did our cabinets obtain VDMA 24994:2024-08 certification?
The practical test:A worst-case scenario was simulated in a real fire test: battery cells were combined into a single unit and triggered into thermal runaway by using controlled heating inside the cabinet. Both of our cabinets withstood the full reaction of the cells and successfully passed the test!Product certification:asecos was subsequently audited by the certification body European Certification Body (ECB) GmbH.

Only genuine with the type plate
All our ION-LINE PRO and ULTRA cabinets will now carry an additional type plate from the ECB certification body.In future, you will find it on the inside of the cabinet doors.
What's new about our ION-LINE cabinets?
The ION-LINE has always offered the best possible protection when storing and charging lithium batteries. Now, we have combined our experience with the new VDMA standards to optimise the entire range. Find out more about the security updates and their functions.
1. New shelves
The CORE, PRO and ULTRA models are now equipped with insulated shelves that prevent fire propagation between storage levels. Efficient dissipation of waste heat from the load and fast smoke detection remain fully assured.
2. New door construction
The PRO and ULTRA cabinets are now equipped with a 3-point locking system and a new door design for greater resistance. Maximum safety when storing lithium batteries
The ION-LINE ULTRA combines successfully passed tests and certifications in accordance with EN 14470-1, EN 1363 and VDMA 24994:2024-08, and is also GS-certified!The ULTRA is also the first and so far only lithium safety storage cabinet to be awarded the highest protection class according to VDMA 24994:2024-08 - I/090 - by the ECB certification body.
